The first Great Hopkinton Cleanup is in the record books! A big Thank You to those who took some time to volunteer and everyone involved! 34 Bags of trash. 11 car tires. 1 semi tire. 3 car batteries. 1 large heap of scrap from awhile back judging from the rust on it. 1 bathroom sink, […]
Lumber St cleanup ended up spanning a few days with winter going out with one last hurrah on our last pile of collected litter. The final tally was 53 trash bags, 7 tires 2 metal yard signs, 1 traffic cone, some old window frames, a 5 gallon bucket of nips and 1 hypodermic needle. A […]
Took a stroll down Wilson St. which is designated as a scenic road and removed the rubbish that was tarnishing the scenery. Including: 13 bags of trash. 3 tires and 1 rim. 1 screen door. As the trash removed from along the roadways becomes more random I am still awaiting the day a kitchen sink […]
Cleaned up Rafferty Rd. which sits inside Hopkinton St. Park. Final tally on a wonderful day in March: A few bags of trash. 1 tire and rim. 1 tractor front axle and miscellaneous scrap metal. 1 hypodermic needle.
Started on southeast corner of Granite St. and made it about halfway to Lumber St. before dark. The following day we found a pile of decomposing tires and quite a few more bags or litter. As the saying goes, bad stuff rolls downhill – and water does too. In the background of the photo with […]
September 27, started working on the 495 ramps and picked up Lumber St. to the 495 bridge on Main St. going halfway up the ramps. 3 – 42 gallon trash bags filled in about 3 hours. 1 – Needle.

Looped around the town common and cleared the north side of Main St. to the Ashland border, with a detour up Wilson St. for about a block. Unusual finds were soiled underpants and a hypodermic needle – Hazmat […]
September 4th – finished cleaning up the south side of Main St to the 135 split by Hop Lumber and worked my way back to Rte 85. Clean up was then performed along the west side of Rte. 85 to Rafferty Rd. including a large stash of empty Canadian Mist Whisky bottles. Final tally: 3 […]
The original plan was to cleanup Main St./Rte. 135 from Curtis St. to the town common and back. In 4 hours we made it about a mile to Prestwick St…and only got the south side of the road cleaned up. My activity tracker froze somewhere along the way so I just have a generic map […]
Driving along the road bits of trash and plastic bottles are visible here and there, which is quite depressing. Jogging along the same route you start to notice 2-3 times the amount of rubbish along the roadway. While walking and doing cleanup the items visible while driving eventually lead you down a rabbit hole of […]
