Great American Cleanup of Hopkinton 04/22/17 – Rain or Shine!

Trash along our major highways, suburban streets, wooded areas, and secluded country roads is not only unsightly, it is all too common. The current status quo regarding litter is unacceptable. Rather than simply accept the appearance of litter along our town’s roadsides and public lands,
Keep Hopkinton Beautiful is urging residents, government leaders, and business owners to take action by participating in our Great American Cleanup of Hopkinton.

We invite you to band together with your neighbors on Apri 22nd to beautify Hopkinton roads, parks, and waterways. It’s not only a great way to give back to the community where you live and/or do business, but it also offers a unique team-building opportunity. Take pride in your community, team up with your neighbors, and earn community service hours.

Safety tips:
•Please choose an area to cleanup before arriving so you can scout it and make sure it is within your comfort level.
•Wear gloves; thick-soled, closed shoes; long pants; and long sleeve shirts.
•Wear sunscreen and bug repellent.
•Be aware of your surroundings and any potential hazards.
•Wash hands with antibacterial soap or sanitizer after the cleanup.
•Gloves and grabber sticks will be available, while supplies last. Bring them if you have them.

Hopkinton’s event is part of a nationwide cleanup effort led by Keep America Beautiful, the nation's largest community improvement organization.
